Know-how ensuring success

The Product Application Centre in Ijmuiden is the centre of expertise in material know-how. The extended experimental facilities in combination with various simulation packages make it possible to characterise the sheet metal behaviour on all relevant topics. Forming technology, mechanical performance, joining technology and surface technology are the expertise oriented knowledge groups based in the PAC. The know-how is focused on the Corus customer processes to make sure their product is a success.

Material Characterisation

Generally standard material characterisation is designed for flat sheet. Besides the standard tensile curve, Hyfo has the ability to carry out tests such as formability tests like the limiting drawing ratio (LDR), the limiting dome height (LDH) and the forming limit curve (FLC).
