Corus Hyfo brings access to Corus Tubes ERW (electrical resistance welded) product for hydroforming.

From mills in Holland and Germany a full range of hydroform quality product from carefully selected material grades offering optimum formability are produced on expertly designed roll sets.

Maximum benefit from formable product means that hydroforming is made as trouble free as possible. Our R&D activity can take the product characteristics of well fomed tube into hydroform process simulation for optimum results.

Corus has invested in R&D activity to develop a full understanding of the changing condition of material throughout the tubeforming process. This know-how affords the capability to design specific rolls to ensure a gentle Slow FormingTM of the tube shape optimising the ‘flower pattern’ to maximum effect.

Through years of careful process development Corus has developed a high surface quality product ReflexTM, this technology can be applied in certain sizes for hydroform application producing excellent finished tubes.

Corus makes tube to all international recognised specifications such as:

• BS 6323 Pt 5
• DIN 2394
• ASTM 513.

Materials range from high draw quality steels to high strength steels and even including some of the new Advanced High Strength Steels (AHSS).

Tubes can be produced from 9.9mm to 230mm with limitation on D/t ratio of around 60:1.
