Corus confirms sponsorship of 2006 Industry Forum & Coventry University MA Automotive Design Show
  • Patrick le Quement confirmed as guest speaker

Corus, the international metals company, is entering its eighth year as sponsor of Coventry University’s MA Automotive Design Show with one of the strongest judging panels to date.

This year’s Design Show private view will take place on Thursday 30 November at the newly refurbished Coventry Transport Museum.  The judging panel for 2006 has been named as: Patrick le Quement, Director of Design, Renault; Silvia Baruffaldi, Editor-in-Chief, Auto & Design; Professor Michael Tovey, Dean of School of Art & Design, Coventry University and Professor Jon King, Director Corus Automotive.

In 2005, Jean-Michel Raad’s The Moov!! was selected as winner from a line-up of fifteen international students by a distinguished judging panel, which included David Godber, General Manager of Nissan Design Europe and Gerry McGovern, Advanced Design Director, Land Rover.  Mr McGovern captured the excitement of the 2005 show with the comment: “The Moov!! was everything an MA project should be about – pure passion, innovation and fantastic execution.”

Once again prior to the MA Design Show a number of guests will be invited to take part in the Corus Industry Forum.  The panellists focus on a range of topics affecting the global automotive industry and will include: Tim Leverton, Group Engineering Director, JCB (the engineer behind JCB’s diesel land speed record attempt); Christopher Macgowan, Chief Executive, SMMT and Patrick le Quement, Director of Design, Renault, Edmund King, Executive Director of the RAC Foundation will act as Chair.
